Since the 1960’s, the manicured grass, majestic trees and welcoming facilities of the Escondido Country Club have provided beauty and value to create one of the most treasured neighborhoods in Escondido.

In August 2013, the Escondido City Council unanimously declared the 110 acres of land as a dedicated open space.  In November 2014, the land owner, a Beverly Hills developer who wanted to build a massive housing development on the property, was shot down by Escondido voters in a 61% land-slide, declaring that Escondido does not want a 430 unit housing development.

Now entering Phase 3 of our journey, determining how the land will be used.  For more information, please email:  ECCHO.Info@gmail.com.

Thank you for taking the time to help build a better Escondido.

ALL GREEN SHIRTS TO CITY COUNCIL ON WEDNESDAY!

Saturday, October 3, 2015

Have a look at the agenda for the Council's CLOSED session -SITR:

https://www.escondido.org/Data/Sites/1/media/agendas/Council/10-7-15CCAgendaPacket.pdf

Let's show up at the open session to tell City Council to support an appeal and DO NOT negotiate a settlement with the BEVERLY HILLS BULLY!  We should not give in to a bully that has shown repeatedly that he CANNOT BE TRUSTED!

Remember:  We've shown that the neighborhood (and all Escondido City voters) do not want his development, and we've shown that twice:

1.  Our all-volunteer force gathered enough signatures, then the City Council unanimously put our initiative into law.

2.  The VOTERS of Escondido voted 61% to 39% to send the bully packing back to LA LA land.

The link will show you how to register to speak directly to Council.  Tell them what you think!

Include ECCHO in ANY negotiations.  We'd sooner have a fallow field than SITR houses!

Still no plans for the weekend?

Update from ECCHO

Monday, July 13, 2015

ECCHO Members,

The Escondido City Council has yet to decide whether the City will appeal Judge Maas’s erroneous ruling.  There is strong Council support for an appeal.  Thanks to your complaints about the appearance of the golf course property and the risk of a fire hazard due to high weeds, the City forced STIR to remove the weeds.  The undeveloped property is now safe and looks much better.  ECCHO will hold a community gathering within the next 60 days to inform of further developments.  Stay tuned.
